Technology and Engineering Resume Examples

Software, data, security, IT support, product and engineering resumes that connect tools, testing and standards to measurable outcomes.

What technical reviewers look for

Technical hiring managers check two things quickly: which tools you use, and what changed because you used them. These examples name the tool inside each bullet, such as SQL and Python behind a markdown plan, Splunk for alert triage or Intune for a laptop refresh, so the skill and the result appear together. Group skills by type and list only tools you could discuss in an interview.

Credentials need a clear status. The electrical engineer shows a P.Eng. license with its issuing body and date, the cybersecurity analyst lists Security+ and CySA+ near the top, and the IT support specialist pairs CompTIA A+ with ITIL 4 Foundation. If you are still working toward a credential, say so. The product manager example has no certifications section and lets launch results carry the page.

Choosing a template for a technical resume

The eight examples use six designs. Software engineer and IT support specialist use ATS Modern, data analyst uses ATS Compact for a long skills list, mechanical engineer and cybersecurity analyst use ATS Classic, and electrical engineer uses Minimal. Business analyst uses Professional, with labels in a left margin column, and product manager uses Contemporary, a two-column design with a skills sidebar.
