What this resume checker looks at
Resume Completeness
Contact details, a professional summary, experience, education and skills. The percentage shows how many common resume elements are filled in.
ATS Text Preview
The plain text of your resume in reading order. If a line is missing or out of order here, a tracking system may read it the same way.
Readability
Long paragraphs, missing measurable results, overall length and decorative symbols that some systems cannot read.
What a resume checker cannot tell you
Employers use many different applicant tracking systems and configure them in different ways. No checker can see how a specific employer’s system will parse, score or rank your application.
- Resume Completeness is a checklist, not a hiring prediction.
- The ATS Text Preview shows what this tool can read. Other software may read a file differently.
- A complete resume still needs relevant, truthful content for the job you want.
Use the results to find gaps, then decide what fits your experience. Do not add skills, results or qualifications that are not accurate.
Your resume stays on your device
Saved resumes are read from this browser. Pasted text and files are analyzed in this browser tab and are not uploaded, stored or sent to analytics.
Frequently asked questions
Is the ATS Resume Checker free?
Yes. The check, the ATS Text Preview and the text download are free and need no account.
Is my resume uploaded when I choose a file?
No. The PDF or Word file is opened by your browser on this device, and only its text is read. The file is not sent to CVCraftHub servers.
Why does my PDF show no text?
The PDF is probably a scanned image or was exported as pictures. Applicant tracking systems may be unable to read it too. Export a text-based PDF instead, or rebuild the resume in the resume builder.
Does a high percentage mean I will get an interview?
No. The percentage only shows how many common resume elements are present. It does not measure how well your experience fits a job. To compare your resume with a posting, use the job description matcher.
Which file type should I send to employers?
Follow the employer’s instructions. If none are given, a text-based PDF is a good default. See resume file formats.
