Privacy Policy

Your resume is created and saved in your browser. CVCraftHub does not upload your resume information to our servers. This policy explains what data the site does and does not handle.

Last updated:

Summary

  • Resumes and cover letters you create are stored in your browser on your device, not on our servers.
  • Photos, imported resume files and job descriptions are processed in your browser and are not uploaded.
  • We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. We do not send your resume content, contact details or other information you type to Google Analytics.
  • Some content pages show ads from Google AdSense, which may use cookies. Ads are not shown in the resume builder or other tools.
  • You can change your privacy choices at any time and delete your saved resumes whenever you like.

Who we are

This policy applies to the website at cvcrafthub.com (“CVCraftHub”, “we”, “us”). You can contact us about privacy at info@cvcrafthub.com.

Resume data stored on your device

When you use the resume builder or cover letter builder, the information you enter, including your name, contact details, work history, education, skills, photo and design settings, is saved in your browser using a browser storage technology called IndexedDB. This lets you close the page and continue later on the same device and browser.

  • This data is not sent to CVCraftHub servers, and we cannot see, access or recover it.
  • It stays in your browser until you delete it or your browser clears it.
  • Anyone who uses the same device and browser profile may be able to open the builder and see your saved resumes. On a shared or public computer, clear your data when you finish.
  • If your browser does not allow storage (for example in some private browsing modes), the builder tells you that changes will not be saved after you close the page.

Exported files (PDF, Word, plain text and backup files) are created in your browser and saved to your device through your browser’s normal download process.

Photos

If you add a photo to your resume, it is read, resized, cropped and compressed in your browser. The processed image is stored with your resume in your browser’s storage. It is not uploaded to our servers.

Resume imports

If you import an existing PDF or Word resume, the file is read in your browser to extract its text. The file is not uploaded. You review the extracted information before anything is added, and the import never overwrites your existing resumes. Backup files you import are also read locally.

Job descriptions and resume checks

When you paste a job description into the job description matcher, or run the ATS Resume Checker, the analysis happens in your browser. The text you paste is not sent to our servers or to analytics.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google, to measure how many people visit the site, which pages and tools are used, and how the site performs. Google Analytics may collect information such as the pages you visit, your approximate location, device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site, using cookies or similar identifiers.

In the tools we record a small number of anonymous events, such as “resume created”, “template selected” or “PDF download clicked”. These events describe the action only. They never include your name, email address, phone number, address, employers, schools, resume text, job descriptions, cover letter content, photos or imported file contents.

Page addresses are reported to Google Analytics without query strings, with one exception: up to four campaign labels (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign and utm_content) that show which newsletter, post or link brought you to the site. A label is converted to lowercase and kept only if it is a short name made of letters, digits, dots, underscores and hyphens, up to 64 characters. Labels that don’t match this format or contain a long run of digits are removed, as are all other query parameters, including ad click identifiers.

Advertising

CVCraftHub is free to use and is supported by advertising. Some content pages, such as guides, examples and articles, may display ads from Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to show ads, limit how often you see an ad, measure performance and, where permitted, personalize ads based on your visits to this and other websites.

Ads are not shown in the resume builder, the cover letter builder, the ATS Resume Checker or the job description matcher, and advertising services do not receive the content you enter in these tools.

You can learn about and control personalized ads at Google My Ad Center and read how Google uses cookies in advertising.

Your privacy choices

In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, analytics and advertising cookies are off until you choose to allow them. On pages that show ads from Google AdSense, Google’s consent message asks for your choice. Pages without ads, including the resume builder, the cover letter builder, the ATS Resume Checker and the job description matcher, do not show this message. On those pages, Google Analytics stays in a limited mode without cookies unless you turn analytics on in Privacy Choices. Elsewhere, analytics and advertising cookies may be used by default, and you can turn them off.

  • Use the Privacy Choices link in the footer of any page to review or change your choices. In the Resume Builder and the Cover Letter Builder, which have no footer, the same option is in the More menu. On pages that show ads, the link reopens Google’s consent message when it is available. Otherwise, and on every page without ads, CVCraftHub’s own dialog lets you turn analytics and advertising on or off.
  • If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a request to turn off personalized advertising.
  • You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Your choices apply to analytics and advertising only. The storage that keeps your resumes on your device is required for the builder to work and never leaves your browser.

Deleting your data

Because your resumes are stored only in your browser, you control them directly:

  • Delete one resume: in the resume builder, open More, then My Resumes, and delete it.
  • Clear the current resume: use Clear Resume in the builder’s More menu.
  • Delete everything: use Clear Local Data in the builder’s More menu. This removes all resumes, cover letters and settings saved by CVCraftHub in this browser.
  • Browser settings: clearing site data for cvcrafthub.com in your browser also deletes everything.

Deleted data cannot be recovered by us. Use Export Backup first if you may want it later.

Third-party services

  • Google Analytics (Google LLC and affiliates): usage measurement.
  • Google AdSense and the Google consent message (Google LLC and affiliates): advertising on content pages and consent management.
  • Hosting provider: our web host serves the site’s files and, like most web servers, may keep standard access logs such as IP address, browser type, requested page and time of request for security and operation. Resume data is not included because it never leaves your browser.

Links to other websites are provided for convenience. Their privacy practices are their own.

Emails you send us

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message, and use it only to reply and to improve the site. Please do not send your resume or other sensitive personal information by email.

Children

CVCraftHub is intended for job seekers and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of personal data about you. Resume data stored in your browser is under your control, and you can delete it at any time as described above. For data processed by Google, use the Google tools linked above. For any other request, contact us at info@cvcrafthub.com.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS and uses security headers that limit which scripts can run on pages that handle resume data. Data saved in your browser is protected by your device and browser, so keep your device secure and clear your data when using a shared computer.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the site changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
